Even when typing an Internet address in a web browser, there is a risk that an Internet user will be redirected to a fraudulent page. Security enhancements in the Domain Name System (DNS) are intended to close these security gaps that have become known through the Kaminsky Report and make manipulations more difficult. The data provided by deNIC, eco, BSI, Braintec and 123domain.eu (under the former name Klute-Thiemann Informationstechnologie GmbH & Co. KG) for the introduction of a DNSSEC test environment for.de domains is now picking up speed. In the last months we worked intensively on a concept of a test environment with which .de domains can be protected with the help of DNSSEC. The completed concept is now available as a PDF document.
To mark the start of the test phase, the initiators are inviting all interested providers and users to the premises of DENIC eG in Frankfurt on 2 July 2009. Further information on the first meeting can be found at https://www.denic.de/wissen/dnssec/dnssec-testbed/.
