The country code toplevel domain (ccTLD) in Bulgaria is.bg. As a country that uses not only the Latin alphabet but also the Cyrillic alphabet, it was only a matter of time before the corresponding ccTLD was activated. The first precautions were already taken in 2009, so that domains in Bulgaria are now also available under .бг.

Registrations initially start with the sunrise phase, during which state authorities and institutions are allowed to register domains preferentially. Domains already registered under .bg in Cyrillic characters can then also be registered under the corresponding extensions before the phase of free availability begins.
